A humbling thought
Despite my misgivings about the "Western Rite within Orthodoxy", I have to admit something did occur to me last night at work which did give me pause - whatever my opinion on the matter, the fact is that the Western Rite parishes of the Antiochian Archdiocese (and the Holy Synod which oversees them) are in communion with my Church (OCA). Thus while I may have certain problems with how this is being carried out, I am speaking about real Priests, real Sacraments, and real Orthodox Christians.
In consideration of this, and the fact Great Lent is soon going to be upon us, I'm going to simply ask the forgiveness of my Western-Rite brethren for needlessly offending them, and remove the "offending" posting from this weblog.

Please forgive us (me) for doing the same.
Dear Rambler
Western Rite v Eastern rite debate sometimes makes passions run very high on both sides.
We are all of us Orthodox.
Have a truly Blessed Great Lent.
Thank you, Rambler. Your humble action sets a wonderful key note for Lent. My apologies for any offence I may have caused.
God forgives and I forgive. I do wish, however, that you had left it up. Now I have to go back and edit my blog...
God forgives. Forgive me as well.
- This booster's in the OCA :-)
I've removed only one entry (that I can remember) from my blog--my thought is that, in general, one should leave one's entries as they are--for they are historical records, after all. If one has changed one's mind, or altered one's thinking, one should simply post anew. That seems to me the proper balance. For my part, I'm curious as to what you'd written...
Consider this...I was a rastafarian (seaking Christ through Haille Selassie and the Ethiopian Orthodox Church) When I met an Orthodox priest of the Western French Rite which was set up by St. John of Shanghai/ S.F. (They are no longer a recognized jurisdiction by many and at the time I did not know any better.)
However, this priest was used by God to lead me to the faith and I was later baptized in the OCA when I moved to Portland, Or. . He continues to perform liturgy and I have been told not to attend ( I obey)but I am caught between ...A church I saught (Ethiopian) I can not attend, A church that led me to the faith (French Western Rite) I can not attend, and my church (OCA) all at odds in the canonical sense, yet God used all three to bring me to salvation. Does He see jurisdictional boundaries as we see them?
