And I'm sure the court case of Baigent et al agains Dan Brown, the author of The da Vinci code will result in increased sales of both lots of books.
As someone once said, there's no such thing as bad publicity.
I read Holy Blood, Holy Grail years ago (it was part of what made me wonder what was so "new and shocking" about The Davinci Code), and while I don't know what kind of footing this sort of lawsuit has (borrowing, even very direct borrowing, from a work which claimed to be a work of history), it was always very clear to me that many of the central ideas in The Davinci Code were directly taken from Holy Blood, Holy Grail (that Christ married St.Mary Magdelaine, that their descendents are integral parts of the European aristocracy, and that there was an entire conspiracy of secret societies and some in the Vatican that were aware of this "fact", etc.)
